An original sculptural example from British contemporary artist Born To Kiln (Jimmy South), being entitled "The Spoils".
Contemporary artist Born To Kiln (Jimmy South) creates unique glass art sculptures, transforming culturally ugly articles of war into objects of beauty and contemplation.
‘The Spoils’ is a Handmade Glass Sculpture filled with 22ct Gold Flecks in Distilled Water. Forming part of a very limited edition totalling just 12, each one is totally unique. Measuring 15cm x 10cm, in a custom presentation case and accompanied by a COA.
‘The Spoils’ consists of hand blown glass, crafted into the shape of a hand grenade. Inside, South has filled the object with flecks of shimmering gold leaf, which float gently in distilled water. A potent symbol of terror and conflict, the hand-grenade suddenly transforms into an ethereal treasure, the crystal qualities of the cut glass sparkling against iridescent gold, to promote peace and stability in a world too often advocating atrocities.
This stunning sculpture is highly desirable, with the artist taking many hours to create each sculpture, his pieces rarely become available on the open market!
